Café Südwärts needed to be more than a place to stop for refreshments. It needed to be part of the round-theworld journey of Klimahaus®; a southbound exploratory vessel en route to the Antarctic.

Create a Friendly and Welcoming Environment
Chiemgau-Lebenshilfe-Werkstätten is an organisation with a vital mission: giving people with mental and physical disabilities the opportunity for vocational education, personal development, employment and a head-start in the jobs market. So, its facilities have very specialised needs – extending to a ceiling that promotes comfort and wellbeing.
Over a four-month period, the project team worked together to create a ceiling with both aesthetic appeal and acoustic performance, creating a friendly, welcoming visual environment while reducing sound levels for the comfort and needs of the building’s users. MINERAL Sonic Element Circle (22 pieces at 1200mm and 25 pieces at 900mm) in a variety of shades of green and in circular shapes of different diameters gave the ceiling a softer feel, akin to reconnecting with nature – ideal for an environment in which people can learn, grow and flourish.
